PURPOSE OF POSITION: To develop an improved level of communication between Iowa Select Farms and their toll mills. This will include direct involvement and knowledge in feed ordering processes, production, barn level management, invoicing, mill processes, delivery processes and ingredient characteristics. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain a line of communication with:The Feed Ordering GroupProduction ManagementAssociated Feed Mill RepresentativesISF Nutrition Partner(s)Research ManagerReview and monitor diet formulations and adjust according to market conditions and seasonalityAssist in processing ingredient PO’s and delivery issues Review and monitor feed ordering and delivery processes to improve efficiencyLead further development, implementation and maintenance of the Iowa Select Farms Feed Manufacturing ProtocolConduct Mill Audits as defined in Iowa Select Farms Feed Manufacturing Protocol Develop and maintain an on-farm feed sampling, and mill ingredient testing program to assure quality is delivered at the farm levelResolve ingredient, feed & delivery issues and develop prevention strategies through collaboration with ingredient procurement, toll mills and production teamDevelop a comprehensive program fully understood at all levels of the process for developing confidence in traceability issues. The employee must have the ability to sit for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens or detailed paperwork. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORKThis is a full-time position that will typically require at least 40 hours a week. Additional availability may be required during staffing challenges. Weekend and holiday rotations are a requirement.Occasional evening hours and weekend work may be required as the job duties demand. TRAVEL.Occasional travel is required for this position with the use of a company vehicle. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Bilingual - not required Experience/ Education: Five years of good work history and particular attention to detail in feed manufacturing processes is necessary for this position.
